Hiya, Here are some useful tips and little things that I sometimes use when editting on photoshop.
First of all here is a Youtube tutorial that I use to create a pink/orange/blue split tone over the image. The video itself is inspired by a Rosie Hardy image. http://www.youtube.com/user/pperdoll#p/u/13/WRqQoULyfjs
So enjoy that :)
Also thought I would let you know of a website that I use when adding text to a image. I use a site called www.dafont.com. It lets you choose from 1000s of different font that are completely free to download. Once you save the font on your computer go to the folder you saved it in and click install. Once installed it will automatically be added to Photoshop. My personal favourites are the hand written fonts like 'windsong' and 'dawning of a new day'.

Left invisible
I'm starting a whole new invisible series as I was really inspired by the response I got from my first invisible one. (As invisible as music). The photograph above took about an hour and half to edit, unlike my violin one which took 3 hours. Anyway here some screen shoots from photoshop on how I did this:
To do a basic invisible photograph, is'nt too tricky. You basically have to take a photograph of the background (using a tripod), keep all of the settings the same and then add in your model doing a really simple pose. When just overlay the two photographs on photoshop and erase your model's face and hands to give the invisible effect! Sounds simple right? BUT if you wanted a more difficult pose (like I've gone for) its hard to just erase their face and hands because of the clothing. Above is a screenshot of how much I could erase before her clothes became a problem.
Okay, now our next move is to create what we think the clothes would look like behide her head. I did this by using the lasso tool to go around a part of the clothing and duplicate it and place it where I think looks right. I then had the head covered up, but the hands where left and I didnt have much of the dress pattern to work with, so I had to take the pattern from a different photograph that I took and lay it over the top of her hands. To make the whole thing look realistic, I had to add in shading and highlights using the burn and dodge tool.
If anyone is stuck, email me at Becky.netley@live.co.uk and I'll be happy to help! :) Happy photoshopping! x

As invisable as music
This photo took me 3 hours and was proving impossible at many times! However here we have it! Inspired by Rosie Hardy, but taken for my musical friend Natalie Burtenshaw, I wanted to create the illustion of an invisable person playing the voilen.
To create something like this, you have to take loads of pictures, in exactly the same position (use a tripod) and then change something diffierent in each picture so that you can erase parts of the image. However all the pictures I took were slightly different, Im guessing because my model moved a tiny bit, so I had to basically make up parts of the photograph using the clone tool. (I have adobe cs3). Also I added different coloured layers and changed the blend modes to create the over all hue.

New start.
Okay, so lately I've been a little sidetracted with other things but now I've figured its time to really get myself started in creating my career. My overall aim is to become a well known Wedding photographer, but as any career, its not easy to do this.
My inspiration at the moment is Rosie Hardy and Jonas Peterson as I am utterly amazed by all the wedding photos!!! Take a look: http://jonaspeterson.com/
Im gonna try and keep Blogging my ever step of the way!!! :) x
